Postdoctoral Fellowship Checkpoint Regulation of T Cells

Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute
La Jolla, CA

Research Description:
A Postdoctoral Fellowship position is available immediately in the laboratory of Linda M, Bradley, Ph.D. at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla, CA (please see http://thebradleylab.com). The focus of research is on understanding innate and adaptive mechanisms that the regulate T cell responses in acute virus infections where the immune response results in viral clearance and the development of immunologic memory, and in chronic virus infections where the ongoing immune response leads to viral persistence and T cell exhaustion. In parallel with these studies, we are interrogating mechanisms to relieve T cell inhibition in the setting of melanoma cancer with murine models and clinical samples.

The successful candidate will have a Doctoral degree in Immunology with expertise in T cell immunology and in experimental approaches to study T cell functions using in vivo models. This position requires a highly motivated individual who can function independently in design and execution of experiments, has excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. A strong publication record as well as eligibility to apply for fellowship support are required. The Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute is located on the Torrey Pines Mesa in La Jolla that is home to a broad base of immunology research in both academic and biotech sectors.

I am available during AAI 2018 to meet and discuss this position. In addition, the lab has a poster presentation on Saturday, May 5, 2:30-3:45 PM; program number 57.47 (TUM.1243); abstract ID 2002. I will also be available to meet at that location after the poster session.
